Mayor of the City of Aachen

Sibylle Keupen was elected Lord Mayor of the City of Aachen on September 27, 2020. In her term of office, one of her priorities will be to engage in an open dialogue with citizens and involve them in creating an agenda for the development of the city.

In addition, in light of the climate crisis and the transitions to sustainable urban mobility, she sets out to support and promote the many innovative projects and products that are being developed, for example, by the Aachen universities. The city is to become a real-world lab for the environmentally-friendly and other innovative technologies developed at the universities, which are to be tried out, tested, and further developed together with the citizens of Aachen.

Before becoming Aachen’s Lord Mayor, Sibylle Keupen was head of the "Bleiberger Fabrik" educational center and venue for cultural events.
